Scrappy little tags

Using up scraps of fabric?  Try making some tags, they will always be used.
The first one is linen base with a strip of lace, printed bird on a wire ribbon and a black cotton 'nest' with pink pearl embellishments 💙

This one is a scrap of old denim, a cut from some printed fabric, with lace button and pearl embellishment 💙

The last one is denim again, printed ribbon, paper 'tape measure' strips with pearls and button embellishment 💙

Pretty linens and ribbons

Ever had a stack of beautiful ribbon and fabric and then get stuck on what to make?
This calls out for zakka style sewing to me.

I tend to buy fabrics from Ebay from sellers based in China, yes you wait a little longer for a delivery but you can find some bargins if you look.  I'm not too sure where this stack of lovely stuff came from but I know i'v'e had it far too long, so I may turn into a sewing queen soon and start making!

11 Reasons to be happy

Hello all, 2016 is finally upon us, how did your 2015 go?
I have made myself some 'promises' for 2016, they are:

1. Look after myself
2. Write more
3. Read more
4. Craft more
5. Make beautiful things even if nobody else cares
6. Walk more
7. Yoga more
8. Save more
9. Follow my own path
10. Be weird, act crazy
11. Most importantly - keep away from toxic people

These also make me happy :)

This week I picked up a crochet hook and made (well nearly) a roundish square with a frilly edge (yes it was deliberate).  I haven't done this since I was a teen.

Beautiful fabric also makes me happy

Linens are my favourite!  Some gorgeous linen ribbon just because...

Now what to do with it all?
